Caring for a Bergamasco puppy requires a few specific considerations, particularly when it comes to grooming, exercise, and socialization. Here are some tips to keep in mind:

• Grooming: The Bergamasco's unique and amazing coat is reasonably low maintenance, however, as a puppy they will need to be brushed regularly so the soft, wavy puppy coat stays free of mats. Particular attention needs to be given to the dogs ears and the ear canal which needs to be kept free from mats and clean.  You will also need to trim the nails regularly and there are many instructional videos to help on the Grooming page.

• Exercise: As a working breed, Bergamascos require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. They enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, running, and playing fetch. Be sure to provide plenty of opportunities for your puppy to exercise and play to prevent them from becoming bored or destructive.  Mental stimulation is key to a happy pup.

• Socialization: Early socialization is essential for a Bergamasco puppy to develop into a well-adjusted adult. This means exposing them to a variety of people, places, and experiences from a young age to help them become comfortable and confident in different situations.

• Training: Bergamascos are intelligent dogs that respond well to positive reinforcement training methods. Start training your puppy early and be consistent in your approach to help them learn basic obedience commands such as "sit," "stay," and "come."  Puppy training classes are a wonderful way to combine training and socialisation in one go.
